The vacuum generator guarantees maximum effectiveness because of the injector's direct integration right at the point of impact in the gripper. This integration also enhances reliability and avoids projecting edges and the risk of damages, since no tubes, distributors or fastening elements must be installed between the vacuum generator and the gripper.

Integrated check valves ensure that unused suction openings close independently and thereby ensure an extra-strong retention force. In addition, a high degree of reservoir draught (energy density up to -0.9) ensures that even uneven or warped workpieces can be transferred without risk.

The SBX can also be used as a double beam, so that particularly long and heavy workpieces are handled securely.

	The application video shows two different operations implemented with the aid of a vacuum beam of the type SBX1200x200. The first part of the video shows a palletizing operation with the aid of an industrial robot which grips a layer of several long wooden laths, moves them and stacks them on a pallet. The system is capable of handling workpieces of varying lengths and widths, even if they have cracks or knot-holes in their surfaces. The problem-free transfer from one conveyor belt to another is shown in the final part of the video. Complete layers of wooden laths are gripped, lifted and moved to the next conveyor belt.

	The large-area vacuum-gripping system system SBX extends the range of products offered by J. Schmalz GmbH and is intended primarily for the woodworking industry. The video shows how two double vacuum beams of the type SBX-1.800x400 are used to lift complete layers of planed beams from a stack and place them on a conveyor belt. The wide range of possible applications includes the handling of complete layer or individual boards and also the commissioning, sorting, moving and palletizing of boards, laths, planks, glued wooden beams, etc.
