Machine:
CNC Multi-Position Vertical Boring Machine
Brand: Bell
Model Number: 410
Year
of Manufacture: 1996
- (8) Servo driven high speed belted motor drive vertical spindles mounted
to (4) beam units, each beam unit contains (1) drill motor and (2) belt
driven spindles aligned front to back with infinitely variable spacing
from 5-1/2" to 24" by separate servo motors. Beam units are
positioned laterally over a 96" long table providing total freedom
to drill any location on the 24" x 96" table area. Boring
units cannot cross or locate closer than 4" in a given cycle but
patterns may include up to 99 cycles for a possible 792 holes. Each
successive cycle may be programmed for a different depth
- 24" x 96" precision ground table with locating holes drilled
and tapped on 1" centers, feed table cycles vertically up to 8"
by a 3 HP hydraulic drive module with controlled rates for advancing,
drilling, and retracting the stock
- Stock is held down by clamp bars on each boring beam unit
- Computer is IBM compatible operating in MS-DOS and programmed in Microsoft
Quick Basic to memorize pattern information and operating sequences
of the machine, 20MB hard drive, 3.5" floppy drive
- Control console has a color VGA monitor and membrane keyboard with
function keys and a number keypad. Programming is directed, displaying
only the options available at any given time. Pattern information is
entered by pressing number keys prompted by the screen; the screen displays
a scaled representation of the holes in each pattern as well as a complete
listing of all the stored pattern numbers
